I’m Oli, a photographer originally from the Lake District in the north of England, now based in Germany.
My work focuses on people — on expression, presence, and the quieter moments that feel honest rather than performative. Portraiture, for me, is less about construction and more about attention.
I began photographing in the mid-90s and, over time, that interest developed alongside a professional career that demanded visual clarity and consistency. After moving to Germany in 2017, I co-founded The Haut Company with my wife, where I was responsible for creating studio photography and video content used across branding, marketing, and e-commerce.
That experience sharpened my approach to portrait work.
Today, I work with individuals to create portraits that feel grounded and considered. Collaboration is central to the process — not as a concept, but as a practical way of achieving images that reflect the person being photographed, rather than a predefined idea.
